you remember Drew Bledsoe right?
that's him on the right - you can tell 'cause it says Drew over his left shoulder - he played football for the Patriots and Cowboys in case you didn't know - quarterback I think
turns out he grew up in Walla Walla and was childhood friends with Chris - that's him on the left - you can tell 'cause ...
Chris is the son of Gary Figgins - he is credited with being the first Walla Walla vintner to create a "cult" wine - Leonetti Cellars - I have access to a few bottles occasionally but very, very hard to get your hands on - Gary is pretty much retired and Chris has continued the rich tradition Gary started
so ... when Drew was done with football he moved home - fell in love with wine - called his pal Chris for help - they created a wine called Doubleback Cabernet - they do only a few hundred cases - been trying unsuccessfully since I started the business to get a few bottles - have always failed until now!
have three 6 packs on the way - have pre-sold one of them - certainly not inexpensive at $99/bottle but compared to California "cult" wines it is downright cheap - have 11 bottles left* - I know you probably don't think so but guarantee they will be gone by the end of the week - don't miss out on your chance to own a truly age worthy and spectacular wine- 95 points by Advocate just so you know

|The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Merlot that spent 20 months in 67% new French oak. Classic Cabernet on the nose, with gorgeous creme de cassis, raspberry ganache, lead pencil shavings and hints of flowers, it is rich, concentrated and decadent on the palate, yet has brilliant purity, a weightless, elegant texture and knockout polish to its tannin. Already approachable due to its balance and overall seamlessness, this full-bodied effort can be consumed now and over the coming 10-15 years. 2,000 cases made. Drink now-2025+.|
First created in 2007 Doubleback is a collaboration between childhood friends Chris Figgins and Drew Bledsoe., They source grapes from all over the Walla Walla Valley, including McQueen (this is Bledsoe’s estate vineyard), Loess, Seven Hills, LeFore and Pepper Bridge vineyards.
